Men's Soccer Ties Randolph at Home

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team played its final home game of the regular season and tied Randolph College 3-3 in an ODAC match on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets (7-3-6, 4-1-3 ODAC) led 2-0 at halftime, but the WildCats (5-7-3, 2-4-2) stormed back in the second half with three goals to force a tie, with each team gaining a point in the conference standings.

RECAP

The Hornets applied offensive pressure early, leading to a penalty kick for the third straight game. The Hornets gave the ball to Jarbin Rodriguez, who scored the team's first goal of the game for the third time in as many games.

In the 34th minute, off a pass from Luke Shearer, Chase Prado dribbled around the WildCats and made it 2-0 with a shot to the right of the goalkeeper.

Early in the second half, a shot from the top of the box by the WildCats cut SU's lead in half. The Hornets quickly responded with another Rodriguez penalty kick goal just 58 seconds later.

Across the next 25 minutes of play, Randolph scored twice to tie the match 3-3 and keep the Hornets from earning three points in the conference standings.
