Women's Basketball Wins Penultimate Game of Regular Season

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's basketball team won its final regular-season home game of 2025-26 on Wednesday night with a 54-36 ODAC victory over Eastern Mennonite University.

The Hornets (18-6, 10-5 ODAC) held the Royals (5-19, 0-15) to 36 points, which is the least amount of points SU has given up all year in a single game. Emily Williams notched a 19-point, 18-rebound double-double.

RECAP

Back-to-back three-pointers by Taylor Moran helped Shenandoah capture a 14-3 lead at the halfway point of the first quarter. Shenandoah took a 16-5 lead into the second as both teams struggled to score in the final five minutes of the first.

Brynna Nesselrodt opened the second quarter with a three-pointer to give SU a 14-point cushion. EMU went on a 15-2 run for the rest of the quarter. SU led 21-20 at halftime.

Addisyn Banks and Williams scored to push SU's lead to five at the start of the third, but EMU scored multiple times to make it a one-score game. With points by Moran, Banks, and Williams, SU proceeded to go on a 7-0 run that helped them extend the lead to nine.

Late in the third, Williams added five points to her total, helping SU maintain its nine-point lead heading into the final frame.

The Hornets started to really pull away from the Royals in the fourth with seven points in the first three minutes, including a three-pointer by Skai Bayless. The Hornets closed out the game on a 9-3 run to secure the win.

Banks and Moran chipped in 12 points each throughout the game. Banks was one rebound shy of a double-double.

Shenandoah heads to Randolph College on Saturday for the final game of the regular season.
