Men's Tennis has Four Named All-ODAC

FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team was awarded four All-ODAC awards on Wednesday afternoon in selections released by the conference office.

Dominick Suwak earned All-ODAC first team in singles, along with a first team distinction in doubles for his pairing with Aryanth Chintharlapalli. Shine Tokas was named to the second team for No. 2 singles, and Artem Babaiev had second-team honors for No. 4 singles.

Suwak earned a 6-1 ODAC record at the top singles spot and walked away with a 17-1 overall record. The senior won 13 of his matches in straight sets. He started his ODAC slate with four straight wins and rounded out the regular season on another four-match winning streak.

Suwak and Chintharlapalli went 7-1 in the ODAC and won 14 times overall, while playing at doubles No. 3. The duo started playing together in early March and closed out the season with eight straight wins. The pairing led the Hornets in wins.

Tokas played at No. 2 singles for SU and picked up five conference wins. He closed out his season with 14 wins overall. He earned one 6-0, 6-0 win when the team traveled to Bridgewater and added nine other straight-set wins.

Babaiev, playing from the No. 4 spot, went 12-5 with a 5-3 ODAC record. He won nine of his last 10 matches of the season, including three sets where he held the opponent scoreless. 

The Hornets went to the ODAC Championship for the first time in program history after earning their highest seeding ever in the tournament, gaining the two seed.
