Men's Soccer's Late Push Stopped by Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team lost a 3-2 non-conference game at Dickinson College on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils (3-3) scored two goals in the first ten minutes and added another goal in the 42nd minute to hold off the Hornets' (1-2-2) comeback attempt.

RECAP

Dickinson earned an early penalty kick and converted to make it 1-0 in the 5th minute. The Hornets came back with two great scoring opportunities, but were unable to find the back of the net, allowing Dickinson to add its second goal in the 8th minute.

Aidan King-Miller made a pair of saves in the first half to keep the SU deficit at two. First-year Maclain Szulborski recorded his first career goal in the 42nd minute, bringing SU within one at the half. However, Dickinson came out of the break and scored another goal, pushing its lead back up to two.

Jarbin Rodriguez got a goal back for the Hornets in the 68th minute, giving them 22 minutes to try and tie the contest. Shenandoah had four shots in those final 22 minutes, with only one on target, as Dickinson held on for the win.

Shenandoah had 16 shots in the game as five players had at least two shots. King-Miller recorded four saves in net for the Hornets.

Shenandoah is at Rutgers-Newark this Saturday at 3 p.m. for a non-conference game.
