RECAP

The first half of play was a defensive battle, with each team only getting three shots off and one shot on target. SU's shot on goal in the opening half was off the foot of Lauren Duffy in the 21st minute.

Lynchburg picked up four early corner kicks in the second half, with SU's keeper Morgan Musselman having to make two saves to keep the game scoreless. Lynchburg's goal came 12 minutes later in transition.

Trailing 1-0, Shenandoah turned up the pressure and had seven shots in the final 20 minutes of play. Olivia Daniele, Ellie Ajello, and McKenna Newcome fired off a shot on target each within a minute span, all of which were all stopped.

Then, in the 87th minute, Emme Rivera had back-to-back chances, including a shot blocked at the goal line. Lynchburg played keep-away for the final three minutes to hold on for the win.
