WINCHESTER, Va. - The SU men's basketball team extended its winning streak to four Saturday afternoon with a 92-80 victory over Southern Virginia University.

SU (4-1) has now won four straight since dropping the season opener to Emory & Henry. Southern Virginia falls to 5-9 with the loss.

Shenandoah came out on fire against the Knights; SU shot a sizzling 15 for 24 (62.5 percent) in the first half after spending most of the time north of the 70 percent mark. Unfortunately, 17 first-half turnovers that led to 19 SVU points gave the visitors a 41-40 lead at the break.

The half featured seven lead changes and eight ties with the biggest lead being a 27-21 Southern Virginia bulge at the 10:21 mark.

It would be 180 degrees different in the second half.

Senior Lenny Myers (Rockville, Md./Montgomery-Rockville) gave his club a lead it would hold all but 92 seconds the rest of the way when he nailed a 10-footer 13 seconds into the half. Save for a period from 13:33 to 12:01 when SVU tied the game at 56-56, the hosts led the rest of the way.

Shenandoah led by as much as 16 and never led the lead fall into single after Chad Brashears (Hagerstown, Md./St. Maria Goretti) drained one of his five-three pointers at the 6:41 mark.

Brashears led four SU players in double figures with a season high 22 while Chris Rhone (Washington, D.C./Northwestern) added 21, Myers 18 and James Brodie (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) 11.

Ryan Henderson and Dave Tarwater each matched Brashears for game high honors with 22.
