WINCHESTER, Va. - Junior Josh Bosley (Oakland, Md./Garrett CC) hit a walk off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to give Shenandoah a 7-6 win in game one of a non-conference doubleheader against Penn State-Altoona Thursday night.
Penn State - Altoona (10-6) came back to win game two 4-0 on a one-hitter by Luke Deihl. Senior Manny Yanas (Palmdale, Calif./William Penn) had the Hornets only hit in the nightcap.
Bosley gave SU (5-13-1) the opening game win when he deposited a his third home run of the season over the left field fence. This blast bailed the Hornets out of a 6-4 jam; PSU-A had scored three runs of its own in the top of the inning to take the two-run lead.
Yanas led off the last with a walk and moved to second when Lions pitcher Rodney Alleman threw the ball away attempting to pick him off. Following a Mike Christoforo (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) walk, Yanas put himself 90 feet from home when he stole his team leading eighth base of the season.
However, Bosley made all of this work moot when he hit his first game winning home run at Shenandoah.
Freshman Chris Hickerson (Nokesville, Va./Brentsville) picked up the win by striking out two in 1.2 innings of relief work.
Bosley and classmate Dusty Crostic (Chesterfield, Va./LC Byrd) each had two hits for SU.

Shenandoah travels to Greensboro College this weekend for a pair of Dixie Conference contests.
