FOREST, Va. - On Wednesday, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced its second-ever Hall of Fame class, with Shenandoah University's Ashley Cross (field hockey/women's lacrosse) and Darrell Thompson (baseball) being included in this year's class of 36 inductees across 14 different institutions.

Last year, to help celebrate 50 years of the conference, the ODAC announced its inaugural class of 50 inductees from 13 different schools, with this year marking the first time that SU was up for nomination.

Cross, a 2014 Shenandoah graduate, played field hockey and women's lacrosse during her time as a Hornet. The dual-sport athlete was awarded All-ODAC honors twice in field hockey and women's lacrosse, while being named the league's Player of the Year in 2013 for field hockey. She holds SU's women's lacrosse program goalkeeper records for games played, games started, saves, and wins. Cross was inducted into Shenandoah's Hall of Fame back in 2022.

Thompson was a pitcher for the Hornets from 2013-16 and helped the Hornets win the department's first ODAC Championship back in 2015, where he was named tournament MVP. In 2014, he was awarded ODAC Pitcher of the Year after leading the conference in wins and strikeouts. Across his entire career, Thompson had 24 wins and 231 strikeouts, which puts him in the top three in each category on the program's all-time list.

The first two classes of the ODAC Hall of Fame have been directly selected by the administrations of each represented institution. Method on the selection of the third edition and those that follow will be determined by the conference's administration at a later date early this season.
