WINCHESTER, Va. - Methodist College jumped out to a 9-4 halftime lead and then had to hold on in a 14-12 Dixie Conference women's lacrosse victory over host Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.

Methodist (2-7, 1-2) broke a 4-4 tie with five goals in the final 11:05 of the first half and took the five goal advantage into the halftime lockerroom.

After MC opened the second half scoring 36 seconds in on a Tracy Goff from Jennifer White goal, the two teams traded the next four goals before the Lady Monarchs tallied twice within 30 seconds at the 18:08 and 17:38 marks.

Now down 13-6, Shenandoah (2-4, 1-2) came alive with five unanswered goals over the next seven minutes. Five different players scored during this rally while Christine LaTouche (Elkton, Va./Spotswood) and Joia Davis (Trenton, NJ/Stuart County) each had a goal and an assist.

Unfortunately for the hosts, Jill Hartman snuffed out the rally with a goal off of a Goff feed with 7:21 to play.
