DANVILLE, Va. - The SU women's lacrosse team set a new school record for goals in a game Saturday afternoon in a 29-2 USA South romp over host Averett.

Shenandoah (4-3 overall, 2-1 USA South) led 18-1 at the half behind five goals from freshman Melissa Bryant (Wilmington, Del./Tatnall) and four by classmate Kelly Matagiese (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May).

Averett (0-10, 0-2) was held to just six shots in the game and watch the Hornets tally seven times in the first 10:31 of the game. The Cougars scored their goals at the 20:13 mark of the first and the 21:12 mark of the second.
