WINCHESTER, Va. - The SU baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak Tuesday afternoon with a 6-4 non-league victory over Frostburg State.

After falling behind 4-3 in the top of the sixth, Shenandoah (5-8) tied it with a single run in the bottom of the inning and then scored one run in each of the next two innings to take the close victory.

Freshman David Jenkins (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) earned the win on the mound after pitching 3.2 innings of scoreless relief. Jenkins came on in the top of the sixth after Frostburg (6-4) had taken the lead with two runs on two hits, a walk and two wild pitches. Jenkins allowed one run to score on the second wild pitch, but avoided further damage by striking both batters he faced.

One inning later, coach Kevin Anderson's club took the lead for good when senior Josh Bosley (Oakland, Md./Garrett CC) led off with a single to center and was sacrificed to second by classmate Mike Arvizo (Palmdale, Calif./Antelope Valley). One out later, Bosley advanced to third on a passed ball before scoring the winning run on Nick Sborz (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) single down the left-field line.

Jenkins helped himself out in the eighth by plating Adam Kuchemba (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) from second on a single up the middle. Kuchemba had led off the inning with a double to right.

In addition to earning his first collegiate win, Jenkins led all hitters with a 3 for 4 afternoon that included the eighth inning RBI. Scott Feller was 3 for 4 for the Bobcats; he scored the first run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth.
