GREENSBORO, N.C. - Shenandoah University bounced back from an early defeat to USA South power Greensboro Saturday morning to sweep Chowan College and salvage a split of the day's tri-match.
Shenandoah (8-7 overall, 3-3 USA South) lost 3-0 (22-30, 31-33, 17-30) in the morning to Greensboro before defeating Chowan 30-22, 30-13, 30-25 in the afternoon.
Senior Hannah Williams (Salem, Va./Glenvar) had a team high 12 kills against the Pride while Jennifer Thompson (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) had 15 assists and Michelle Chandler (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West) 13.
Freshman Christina Greene (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) keyed the offense against former USA South member Chowan; Greene had a match high 14 kills to go along with 13 digs. Thompson once again led in assists; she had 16 of the Hornets 29 total.
