WINCHESTER, Va. - Coach Kathy Orsini got double figure scoring from five of eight players she dressed Wednesday night in an 85-23 non-conference women's basketball victory over Christendom College.

Shenandoah (16-16) led 48-9 at the half as the Hornets held the Lady Crusaders (2-11) to just 3 for 26 shooting (11.5 percent) in the first 20 minutes.

Christendom failed to score for nearly 20 minutes in the middle of the game; Shenandoah scored 37 straight points as CC was held off the board from the 8:05 mark of the first until 8:43 remained in the contest.

The margin could have been much worse, but the Hornets did run their fast break and only took two three-point shots in the second half. SU scored 16 of its 48 points off the break in the opening half.

All eight players in uniform played at least eight minutes with the exception of leading scorer Alicia Sanders. Sanders turned her ankle eight minutes into the game and sat out the remainder as a precaution. She was one of three players not to score in double figures; she had four points.

Junior Joia Davis led the group of five in double digits. She was one of three players who recorded a double-double - posted 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Cassie Womack had 13 points and 18 boards while freshman Netagia Foreman had 15 points along with her career high 15 rebounds.

Whitney French and Jessica Young rounded out the double digit scorers with 13 and 10, respectively.

Shenandoah also set a new school record with 71 rebounds in the game. This breaks the record of 66 set against Mary Baldwin on January 18, 1986.

The 23 points given up is also the fifth best defensive performance in school history. This ties a mark previously set against Hood on December 2, 1988 and equaled against Villa Julie on January 30, 1996.

Kathleen McKinnon had 12 of Christendom's 23 points. She was one of four CC players to score.
