Women's Lax Opens Season with Win

DOVER, Del. - Shenandoah University opened its 2005 season exactly the same way it opened the 2004 campaign, with a 12-7 victory over Wesley College.

Shenandoah (1-0) has now won season openers for the three consecutive seasons for just the second time in school history.

Sophomore Erika Bradd led a list of seven different SU players in the scoring column with three goals and two assists. She also had a team high seven groundballs.

Classmate Melissa Bryant celebrated her return to her home state with three goals while Kelly Matagiese added two.

Junior Lauren Prentice rounded out the multiple scorers with a goal and two assists. She also had three groundballs.

Sophomore Wendy Taylor made 10 saves to earn the victory in the net.

Wesley falls to 0-1 with the loss.
