WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women erased a seven-point halftime deficit Saturday afternoon with a strong start to the second half and got a 72-64 USA South Conference basketball victory over visiting N.C. Wesleyan.
Shenandoah (5-12, 2-7) trailed 37-31 at the break, but scored 10 of the first 12 points of the second half to take a 41-39 lead with 16:42 left.

Cassie Womack's gave the hosts a lead they would hold all but 24 seconds the rest of the way.
Wesleyan (7-11, 5-3) did tie the score at 45-45 on a J.D. Richardson jumper with 13:09 left, butÂ
Alicia Sanders answered with a three-pointer to give Shenandoah a lead it would not relinquish.Â
Sanders bucket was immediately followed by a technical against the Lady Bishops bench;Â
Whitney French hit both free throws to give the Hornets a five-point lead. NC Wesleyan was unable to get closer than two points for the duration of the contest.
Sanders led all scorers with 18 points; she was one of four SU players in double figures. Womack had 14 points and 11 rebounds whileÂ
Netagia Foreman added 14 points and five assists andÂ
Joia Davis 12 points.
Shelley Hinson had 15 points, Tranae Turner 12 and Liz Ansley and Cheyenne Hall 11 each for NCWC.
