WINCHESTER, Va. - Peace College dominated the second half glass on its way to a 71-60 USA South Conference victory over homestanding Shenandoah Sunday afternoon.

Shenandoah (5-13, 2-8 USA South) led 28-22 at the break, but Peace (9-9, 4-6) outrebounded its hosts 31-11 in the second to steal the victory.

The Pacers converted those 31 rebounds into 13 second chance points; SU was hampered by foul trouble for leading rebounders Cassie Womack and Joia Davis. Womack had a season low two rebounds after picking up three fouls in the first four minutes of her playing time while Davis had six rebounds and four fouls in 36 minutes.

The Hornets led by as many as 10 points in the first half before PC cut the halftime deficit to six by scoring the final four points of the period. Shenandoah appeared to retake control of the game by opening the second with three layups in the first 1:14, but Peace gradually began to assert itself.

The Pacers then went on a 10-0 run, starting with a possession in which they pulled down five offensive rebounds before Tia Saunders finally converted a jumper in the lane. They eventually led 37-34 before Netagia Foreman finally snapped a better than five minute scoreless streak for Shenandoah by finishing off a fastbreak in the lane.

Peace extended its lead to as many as eight points before an 8-0 SU run tied the game at 50-50 with 7:06 to play. Unfortunately for the home fans, the Pacers answered on their next possession and led the rest of the way.

Saunders led all scorers with 21 points and 17 rebounds while Lindy Cartwright had 17 points and nine boards. PC outrebounded Shenandoah 53-35 for the game.

Sophomore Alicia Sanders and freshman Whitney French had 14 points each for the Hornets with Foreman chipping in 12 points and a career high tying eight assists.
