WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team ran its winning streak to three games Monday afternoon with a 12-11 victory over Marymount University.
Shenandoah (4-1) scored the first six goals of the contest before Marymount (3-1) finally got on the board with 8:26 to play in the first.
Despite giving up a goal just eight seconds before the half, the Hornets remained in control the entire contest. SU led by at least three goals until the Saints scored the final three goals of the game - they cut the deficit to just one when Beth Horrigan scored on a free position shot with 3:48 remaining.
Unfortunately for the hosts, this would be as close as they would get and Shenandoah pulled out its first victory over Marymount since a 14-11 win in 1998. MU now leads the all-time series 4-3.
SophomoreÂ
Erika Bradd led SU with four goals whileÂ
Joia Davis andÂ
