WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University baseball team ran its non-league winning streak to five games Tuesday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Mount Aloysius.
Shenandoah (10-7) got coachÂ
Kevin Anderson into a tie for third place on the all-time baseball wins list at SU with 7-3 and 14-3 victories over the Mounties (2-7-1). Anderson has 33 victories in just under 1.5 seasons as the Hornets skipper.
After Mount Aloysius took 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and third innings of game one, Shenandoah roared back with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the sixth. SU got a combined six hits in the two innings, including four in the fifth inning alone.

FreshmanÂ
Jason Byrne improved to 3-0 on the mound by giving up three runs on seven hits and one walk. He also struck out five before yielding to juniorÂ
Nick Sborz with two outs in the sixth. Sborz faced the minimum four batters to earn his sixth save of the spring.
Anderson managed to get a season high 21 players into the game two blowout; SU led 14-0 before the Mounties got on the board with three runs in their final at-bat of the evening.
Taylor DuFrene improved to 2-1 this season by throwing six shutout innings in the nightcap. He struck out eight and walked three -Â
Hunter Calloway gave up all three runs (one earned) on three hits as he pitched the seventh.
The Hornets had 14 hits in game two with freshmanÂ
Sam Fullertonleading the way with a 4 for 4 performance that included four RBI and a three-run triple. McCormick also drove in four runs - he was 2 for 2 with three runs scored.
