FROSTBURG, Md. - Shenandoah University outshot host Frostburg State Thursday afternoon, but the Bobcats used a strong first half to fuel a 14-9 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over the Hornets.

Shenandoah (4-2) saw its three-game winning streak snapped with the loss to the Bobcats (4-1).

FSU took a 5-0 lead in the game before the Hornets were finally able to find the scoreboard at the 22:37 mark of the first on an unassisted goal by Lauren Carpinello. SU played its hosts even from there, but the damage was done as the Bobcats maintained at least a three-goal lead the rest of the way.

Melissa Bryant had three goals for the Hornets while Kelly Matagiese added two and Lauren Prentice, Jenn Iuliano and Carpinello one.

Jessica Young made 11 saves in relief of starter Wendy Taylor.
