GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Shenandoah University baseball knocked off USA South Conference leader Greensboro for the second consecutive time Sunday afternoon, defeating the homestanding Pride 8-5.
Shenandoah (13-8, 6-6 USA South) wins its second USA South Conference series as a result. Greensboro (16-9, 6-3 USA South) now must hope that Methodist beats Ferrum Sunday afternoon in order to stay in first place in the seven team league.
Sunday's contest went the same as Saturday's game two - GC jumped out the early lead only to see the Hornets rally with a couple of big innings in the middle of the contest.
Trailing 3-0 after the hosts scored two runs in the first and one more in the second, Shenandoah backed up a two-run third with a three-run fourth. The Hornets took the lead for good when freshmanÂ
