WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University recorded the second ever shutout in women's lacrosse history Sunday afternoon with a 30-0 USA South Conference victory over Averett University.
Shenandoah (5-3, 2-1 USA South) snapped a two-game losing streak with the loss. Averett (0-6, 0-2) was held to just two shots on the day as they were shutout for the third time this season.
The Hornets wasted little time in jumping all over the Lady Cougars - SU led 7-0 by the time the game was 10 minutes old and took an 18-0 lead into the halftime lockerroom.

Erika Bradd led the onslaught with seven, six and five goals, respectively, with Bradd dishing out a school record five assists and Matagiese three. Shenandoah outshot its visitors 69-2, including 46-0 in the first 30 minutes of play.

Wendy Taylor had to make just one save (by Taylor on a second half free position attempt) to record the program's first shutout since an 11-0 victory over Trinity (D.C.) on April 11, 2002.
SU had eight players record at least two points with every player who recorded a point scoring at least one goal.
