WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team got its school record tying ninth win of the season Wednesday afternoon as the Hornets defeated Trinity (D.C.) 22-4 in non-league action.
Shenandoah (9-5) ties the 1997 and 1998 teams with nine victories. Coach Lois Bowers squad will have a chance to get the record breaking 10th victory this Saturday in the USA South Conference Tournament semi-finals against top seeded Christopher Newport University.
Trinity (3-5) was no match for the SU in its final home game of the 2005 season. Bowers' club scored 35 seconds into the game and led 5-0 before Teaera Strum broke the ice for the Tigers at the 21:26 mark.
After the two teams traded the next four goals, Shenandoah reeled off four unanswered to enter halftime with an 11-3 advantage. SophomoreÂ

Lauren Prentice assist with 1:41 remaining.
Bradd opened the second half scoring with an unassisted goal at the 27:51 mark and after Kara Henry answered for the visitors with 26:08 left, the Hornets began a 10-0 run to finish the contest.
SU outshot Trinity 47-14 for the game and 22-3 in the second half while also grabbing 39 groundballs and forcing 17 turnovers.

Joia Davis, led in the scoring column with six points apiece. Bradd and Matagiese both had five goals and one assist, Davis four and two while Bryant split her six points evenly.
