EMORY, Va. - Shenandoah University could not keep its volleyball momentum going Friday afternoon as the Hornets lost 3-0 (19-30, 23-30, 19-30) and 3-1 (34-32, 26-30, 17-30, 25-30) to Bridgewater and Southern Virginia, respectively, at the Emory & Henry Tournament.

Shenandoah (1-2) will complete pool play at the tournament Saturday afternoon with matches against host Emory & Henry and Eastern Mennonite.

Sophomores Alex Hamlin and Jennifer Thompson led the Hornets offensively in the two matches. Hamlin had a team high eight kills against Bridgewater, while Thompson backed up her seven kills in that contest with 15 against the Knights of Southern Virginia.

Catherine Beuerle chipped in a combined 49 assists while Michelle Chandler had seven total blocks against Southern Virginia.
