Hornets Drop Pair at Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Shenandoah University women's volleyball team remains winless in its USA South Conference slate after dropping 3-2 decisions to both Peace and Methodist colleges Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (4-12, 0-6 USA South) opened play with a 30-28, 30-26, 23-30, 15-30, 15-13 loss to the host Pacers (3-9, 2-3) before Methodist took the nightcap 30-26, 30-28, 30-32, 25-30, 15-10.

Sophomore Jennifer Thompson had a co-game high 20 kills in the Peace match while classmate Michelle Chandler added 12 kills and 10 digs.

The Hornets had 77 digs in the match - Alex Hamlin led the way with 20, Thompson added 11 and Catherine Beuerle had 15 to go along with her 32 assists.

Thompson and Chandler were the offensive story against the Lady Monarchs as well with 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Hamlin continued her strong defensive play with 26 digs and Beuerle added 20.
