SALEM, Va. - Host Roanoke College scored the game's first seven goals and coasted to a 7-2 non-league field hockey win over Shenandoah University Sunday afternoon.
RC (1-8) led 1-0 on a Leeanne Clark goal in the seventh minute before they broke open the contest with three goals in a span of 6:28 just before halftime.
Shenandoah (2-5) was unable to answer this scoring barrage until juniorÂ
Lindsey Collison scored an unassisted goal in the 61st minute.
Just 84 seconds later, the Hornets scored the final goal of the game whenÂ
Kelly Matagiese tallied unassisted.

Wendy Taylor made 15 saves on 27 shots. The Lady Maroons also peppered Taylor with 15 penalty corners.
