FERRUM, Va. - Shenandoah University scored the first 13 goals of the game Saturday afternoon and cruised to a 20-3 USA South Conference women's lacrosse victory over host Ferrum College.
Shenandoah (3-6, 1-3 USA South) kept its USA South Conference Tournament hopes alive with the big win over the Lady Panthers (2-6, 0-5). The Hornets need to defeat NC Wesleyan next Saturday and Methodist on April 8 in order to qualify for the four-team tourney that will decide the league's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.

After Ferrum got on the board with a Stephanie Perih unassisted goal with 4:30 left in the first, SU scored four goals that sandwiched the halftime to take a 17-1 lead by the 18:21 mark.

Matagiese co-led all scorers with seven points on six goals and one assist while Iuliano had four goals, Davis and Malick three. Davis joined Matagiese at the top of the scoring list when she added four assists.
