WINCHESTER, Va. - Greensboro College used a three-goal spurt midway through the second half Sunday to break open a close game and down host Shenandoah University 14-10 in USA South Conference women's lacrosse action.

Greensboro (3-1, 3-0 USA South) scored three straight goals in a 40 second span from the 18:48 to 18:08 marks to increase its lead to 13-8.

Shenandoah (1-3, 0-2) had cut it to 10-8 when junior Erika Bradd tallied an unassisted goal with 20:13 remaining. Unfortunately for the hosts, this would be as close as they would get the rest of the way.

SU did score two of the remaining three goals of the game, the last by Bradd on a free position with 1:14 left, but were never closer than four goals in the final 10 minutes of play.

The Lady Pride led 8-5 at halftime after finishing the first 30 minutes on a 3-1 run. Leading 5-4 after the Hornets Jenn Iuliano scored off of a Joia Davis feed, GC scored at the 5:41, 4:23 and 1:59 marks to take the three-goal margin at halftime. Shenandoah's only answer during this run was another Bradd unassisted goal, this one with 3:12 remaining.

Bradd led all scorers with five goals and one assist while Amanda McGlaughlin had four goals and Jennifer Donah three for the victors.

SU goalie Wendy Taylor made 14 saves to the Lady Pride's Kristen McGuire's 13.
