FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist College used a trio of multiple run innings to rally for an 11-5 USA South Conference victory in the game one of a three-game set with visiting Shenandoah.
Trailing 3-1 after SU (23-11, 7-9 USA South) scored three runs in the top of the fourth, Methodist (20-11, 11-5) scored three in the bottom of the frame, three more in the sixth and four in the seventh to cruise to the win.
This game was scheduled to be a lidlifter in a doubleheader, but game two was called in the bottom of the second with no score. This game will be resumed at the point of interruption Sunday afternoon at 1:00 and game three, which was to have started at 2:00, will now begin 20 minutes after the completion of this halted contest.

Adam Duckett hit a three-run home run, his first of the year, with nobody out.Â
Adam Kuchemba led off the inning by reaching on an error and moved to third whenÂ
Ryan Anderson doubled to left.
Unfortunately for Shenandoah, this lead would short-lived. Methodist got to SU starterÂ
Drew Dobbins (2-2) for three runs (two earned) on two hits to take a lead they would not relinquish.
Anderson drove in the Hornets fourth run with a seventh-inning single whileÂ
Scott Lambert platedÂ
Steven Todd with a groundout in the eighth.
Anderson finished the day 2-for-4 with the run batted in while Duckett had the three RBI on his three-run HR.
Michael Carter led the Monarchs with three hits and two RBI in four at-bats.
Ryan Brandt (5-2) went eight innings to earn the win. He struck out nine against eight hits and four walks.
