FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Shenandoah University ran into a pair of buzzsaws Saturday afternoon in its USA South Conference tri-match at Methodist - both the host Lady Monarchs and Averett University swept SU in three.

The Lady Monarchs (15-12, 8-6 USA South) made quick work of the Hornets (8-19, 1-14) by winning 30-25, 30-27, 30-22.

Sara Yeatman and Allison Averitt led the victors with 19 and 14 kills, respectively.

Senior Jennifer Thompson had 13 kills and 11 digs for SU, with classmate Michelle Chandler adding 23 assists, eight digs and seven kills.

Junior Jennie Haywood paced the defensive effort with 14 digs.

Shenandoah then completed the afternoon with a 3-0 (30-23, 30-17, 30-25) loss to perennial league power Averett.

Chevon Parker had seven kills in the loss to the Lady Cougars (22-11, 12-2) while Megan Williams and Jessi Johnson added six each.
