WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University completed its 2007 volleyball regular season Sunday afternoon by sweeping Salem College in a non-league doubleheader.
Shenandoah (10-22) won the opener, 3-1, before sweeping the Spirits (2-21) 3-0 in the nightcap.
The Hornets opened the day with a 30-17 game one victory and were looking to make quick work of the afternoon, but Salem came back to win game two, 30-27. Shenandoah then had outlast the Spirits 30-23 and 30-25 to secure the victory.

Jessi Johnson led the hosts to the win with 15 kills while classmateÂ
Chevon Parker added 11. SeniorÂ
Michelle Chandler posted a double-double with 25 assists and 12 digs.
In the nightcap, a 30-16, 30-26, 30-27 SU win, Parker had a co-match-high nine kills with Chandler andÂ
Megan Williams adding six each.
JuniorÂ
Jennie Haywood had a combined 29 digs on the day.

Shenandoah travels to Greensboro on Tuesday for the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. SU will face seventh-seeded Mary Baldwin and the winner gets second-seeded Greensboro in the quarterfinals.
