GREENSBORO, N.C. - No. 2 Greensboro College ended Shenandoah University's men's basketball season Tuesday night with an 86-75 victory in the USA South Conference Tournament quarterfinals.

Greensboro (20-6) moves on to face No. 6 NC Wesleyan in Friday's semi-finals. The Bishops upset third-seeded Christopher Newport 71-69 Tuesday night in the Freeman Center.

The Pride earned its fifth straight victory over SU (7-18) by erasing an early six-point deficit with a 14-2 run from the 16:07 to 11:02 marks that gave the hosts an 18-12 lead.

Shenandoah continued to battle after giving up the lead, but was not able to retake the lead for the remainder of the contest.

Greensboro led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but SU got back into it by closing out the session on a 10-6 run.

The Hornets got to within one, 47-46, on a Moutkar Fawehinmi three-pointer with 14:45 to go, but Lynn Bright answered with a 'trey' of his own eight seconds later to end the visitors threat.

Bright's three-ball began a 11-2 run for the Pride that gave the conference regular season co-champions some much needed breathing room.

The lead remained in single digits until GC sandwiched five free throws with a Bright layup in final 56 seconds.

Fawehinmi led all scorers with 27 points and Lenzie Adams added 20 for SU. Bright had 25 points and 11 rebounds for Greensboro. He was 8 for 10 from the field.
