GREENSBORO, N.C. - Host Greensboro College used a strong start Sunday afternoon to help down Shenandoah 19-3 in a USA South Conference women's lacrosse match.
The Pride (5-1, 4-0 USA South) scored 10 of the first 11 goals of the game to keep Shenandoah (1-3, 0-2) winless in conference play.
GC led 4-0 before seniorÂ
Kelly Matagiese tallied at 16:43 for the Hornets. Unfortunately for the visitors, Matagiese' goal was just one of two the team scored in the first half.
After the Pride extended their advantage to 10-1, juniorÂ
Arissa Malickclosed out Shenandoah's first-half scoring at 5:39 with an unassisted goal.
Greensboro sandwiched an eight-goal run around the half before freshmanÂ
Lindsay Clarke completed the Hornets scoring at 7:46.
GC outshot SU 39-16 for the contest and won 17 of 24 draw controls but held just a 24-20 advantage in groundballs. Christie Hebert led the victors with five goals.
