Baseball Takes Down Quakers

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Shenandoah University continued its hot hitting Friday afternoon in a 9-6 non-league baseball victory over Guilford College.

The Hornets (15-8) banged out 12 hits in the win over the Quakers (7-19). SU is now hitting .325 as a team and has two starters (Adam Kesseland Ryan Anderson) hitting over .430.

Sophomore Matthew Davis (2-0) allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits in 7.0 innings, but took over the victory as his offense broke open a 4-4 contest with a three-run sixth.

Junior Josh Campbell had an RBI double in that frame while Steven Todd and Daniel Ziccardy also drove in runs.

Senior David Jenkins was 2-for-4 with two RBI on a home run and a single, Ziccardy had two hits in four at-bats and Kessel was 3-for-4.

Garrett Brandes took the loss for GC. He fell to 0-1 after giving up six runs on five hits in 5+ innings. He was replaced two hitters into the sixth.
