BURLINGTON, N.C. – Second-seeded Christopher Newport
University ended Shenandoah University's men's tennis season with a
9-0 win in the quarterfinals of the USA South Conference Tournament
Friday afternoon.
CNU (13-8) took a 3-0 lead following the doubles portion of the
match by winning at 5,1 and 2 in the three matches,
respectively.
The Captains then clinched with straight set wins in the top
four singles matches. With the outcome assured, Nos. 5 and 6
singles were played as eight-game pro-sets.
The closest match for SU (3-12) came at No. 1 singles, where Michael
Milanov fell 6-1, 6-2. The matches at Nos. 2, 4, 5 and 6 were
lost at love.
