DANVILLE, Va. - Host Averett University earned its first USA South Conference men's tennis win of the season Friday afternoon with a 6-3 victory over Shenandoah.

Averett (3-0, 1-0 USA South) swept the Hornets (3-5, 0-1) in the six contested matches.

Shenandoah's three wins came via default at No. 3 doubles and Nos. 5 and 6 singles.

Junior Michael Milanov had the closest match, losing 0-6, 7-6 (2), 7-10 at No. 1 singles.

SU completes this roadtrip Saturday with a noon match at Greensboro.
