Men's Tennis Halts Terror

WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University earned its second consecutive men's tennis victory with a 5-4 non-league win over McDaniel Monday afternoon.

Shenandoah (5-4) outlasted the Green Terror (3-2) with two doubles victories and three singles wins.

With the match tied at 1-1 during the doubles portion, SU got a crucial victory from Julian Fehr and Adam Bamberger at No. 2. Down a break, 5-4, Fehr and Bamberger won four of the final five games of the set to win 8-6 and help the Hornets to a 2-1 lead.

In singles, Shenandoah brought itself to within one victory of clinching by winning Nos. 1 and 3 before McDaniel extended the match with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory at No. 2.

Junior Tim Lutz then clinched the victory for the second straight match with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 6.

Michael Milanov and Dustan DeMello were both double winners for the victors.

SU is off until hosting nationally ranked N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday in a USA South Conference match.
