BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Host Bridgewater College earned its first men's tennis victory of the year with a 6-2 non-league victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles (1-3) took a 2-1 lead after doubles and then clinched the match with victories at Nos. 2, 3 and 5 singles.
The final match on the court, No. 1 singles, was suspended due to darkness.
Shenandoah (3-3) got wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 6 singles.
Michael Milanov and Dustan DeMello were 8-6 winners in doubles before Tim Lutz won 6-2, 3-6, 10-4 at No. 6 in singles.
SU is back in action next Friday at Averett in its USA South Conference opener.
