NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team completed its USA South Conference slate with a 9-0 loss at Christopher Newport Wednesday afternoon.
The Captains (10-5, 4-1 USA South) raced out to a 3-0 lead following doubles play by winning the three matches at 0, 1 and 0.
Shenandoah (6-9, 2-4) could not rally in the singles as CNU swept the six matches in straight sets.
Michael Milanov and Vladimir Daskalov, at Nos. 1 and 4, respectively, fought hard with 6-2, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-1 losses.
SU completes its regular season on Sunday with a 1:00 match against Stevenson.
The Hornets will be seeded fifth at the upcoming USA South Conference Tournament and will most likely face Methodist in the opening round.
