WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Hood College kept the Shenandoah University men's tennis team winless on the young season with an 8-1 non-league victory Saturday night in a match competed on the indoor courts at Winchester Country Club.

The Blazers (1-3) won in their initial match of the spring season by sweeping the three doubles matches and then winning the top five singles matches in straight sets.

With the match clinched, Nos. 5 and 6 singles were played as pro-set matches.

Sophomore Vladimir Daskalov had the only win of the evening for the Hornets (0-2).

After combining with Dustan DeMello to fall 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, Daskalov bounced back to win 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.

The men are now off until taking on Randolph on March 13 in a matchup of future ODAC rivals.
