WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's tennis team opened up its 2013 spring schedule Saturday evening with a 9-0 non-league loss to Division II Shepherd.
Freshman Zach O'Neal had the closest match, falling 6-2, 2-6, 0-1 (8-10) at No. 6 singles.
Jeremy Parel, at No. 3 singles, had an additional close match. He fell 7-5, 6-2 to Steven Kolumban.
The Hornets won a combined nine games in the remaining seven matches.
The men are now off until hosting Hood College on February 23 in another indoor match at Winchester Country Club.
