WINCHESTER, Va. - Hampden-Sydney used a strong singles performance to down host Shenandoah University 7-2 in ODAC men's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers (2-6, 2-4 ODAC) led 2-1 after the doubles portion of the event and then won the Nos. 2-6 singles matches to clinch over SU (2-7, 0-6).
Senior Michael Milanov was a double winner for the Hornets.
Milanov combined with Steven Baker to win 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and then took out Zach King 6-1, 6-3 in the top singles match.
Baker, at No. 2, and Jeremy Parel, at No. 3, both fell in three sets. Baker lost 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) and Parel 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-2).
The men host Southern Virginia on Friday at 3:00 in a non-league match.
