WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Bridgewater maintained its spot near the top of the ODAC men's tennis standings with a 9-0 victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles (9-7, 6-1 ODAC) had a 2-0 lead before the match started as SU (3-10, 0-7) defaulted at No. 6 singles and No. 2 doubles.
BC clinched it with 8-4 and 8-1 victories in the top two doubles matches, respectively, and a 6-3, 6-0 win by Sam Churchill at No. 4 singles.
The two closest matches came at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, where Steven Baker and Jeremy Parel both extended the match into a third set.
Baker fell 10-8 in his 10-point super-tiebreaker at No. 2 while Parel lost 10-6 in his.
The Hornets travel to Emory and Henry on Saturday for another ODAC contest.
