WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team earned its first-ever ODAC victory Sunday with a 7-0 win over visiting Randolph College.
The Hornets (4-11, 1-8 ODAC) swept the two doubles matches 8-1 and 9-7, respectively, before clinching with wins in the top two singles contests.
The No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles matches were not competed.
Freshman Steven Baker had the match-clinching win, topping Shuan Chopp 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
He and senior Michael Milanov had previouslly down Chopp and Dan Phung 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Milanov completed his perfect day with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Phung in the top singles contest.
Jeremy Parel, at No. 3, and Zach O'Neal, at No. 5, both won 6-0, 6-0.
Will Leach rounded out the singles wins with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 4.
Randolph falls to 4-12 overall and 0-10 in the ODAC with the loss.
Shenandoah completes its season on Wednesday with an ODAC contest against Lynchburg.
