Men's Tennis Drops Heartbreaker

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Shenandoah University won the majority of the contested matches Saturday morning against Stevenson, but came out on the short end of a 5-4 non-league loss to the Mustangs.

The Hornets (3-8) had to default at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, giving Stevenson (3-5) the cushion it would need to steal the victory.

Shenandoah won four of the remaining seven matches, winning at No. 1 doubles and Nos. 1, 2 and 4 singles.

Michael Milanov and Steven Baker were both double winners for the Hornets, combining to win 8-1 at No. 1 doubles before Milanov won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Baker 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2.

Will Leach won the remaining match, downing Anthony Carle 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

SU continues this swing through Baltimore on Sunday with a 1:00 non-league match against Goucher.
