TOWSON, Md. - Host Goucher College sent Shenandoah University down to its second men's tennis defeat of the weekend with a 6-3 non-league victory Sunday afternoon.
Down two players heading into the match, Shenandoah (3-9) found itself in a 3-0 hole that Goucher (4-10) used to secure the victory.
The two teams split the remaining six matches with the Hornets winning at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles.
Steven Baker was a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) winner at No. 2, Zach O'Neal 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 and Will Leach 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4.
Baker also had a close match at No. 1 doubles, where he and Michael Milanov fell 8-6 to Seth Hoesman and David Spivey.
The men host Bridgewater on Wednesday in a 4:00 ODAC matchup.
