WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Washington and Lee dropped just seven games in singles on its way to a 9-0 ODAC men's tennis victory over Shenandoah Thursday afternoon.
The Generals (9-2, 8-0 ODAC), who are ranked No. 22 in the nation, started out by sandwiching a pair of 8-3 doubles wins around an 8-4 triumph at No. 2.
Unfortunately for the Hornets (2-1, 0-1), this would be the high-water mark as W&L dropped just those seven singles games on its way to the sweep.
Sophomore Steven Baker had the closest match, dropping a 6-1, 6-3 decision to Taylor Shamshiri at No. 1.
Baker also combined with Wes Licklider at No. 1 doubles.
Zach O'Neal and Will Leach had that 8-4 loss at No. 2.
Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday with a 2:00 ODAC contest against Guilford.
