Men's Tennis Earns First ODAC Win

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team earned its first ODAC victory of the season with a 5-2 win over Lynchburg Sunday afternoon.

Shenandoah (3-7, 1-6 ODAC) won both doubles matches and the Nos. 2, 3 and 5 singles to take the victory over Lynchburg (0-7, 0-6).

Matches at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles were not contested.

Freshman Zach O'Neal, at No. 3 singles, had the match-clinching victory. O'Neal defeated Andrew Link 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

O'Neal was a double winner, combining with Will Leach to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Leach won his No. 2 singles match 7-6 (3), 6-4 over Josh Johnson.

The final singles victory came at No. 5, where Brett Holmes won 0,0 over Tayler Tepper.

SU is back in action on Tuesday in an ODAC match against Virginia Wesleyan.
