LEXINGTON, Va. - No. 12/17 Shenandoah University was held to four hits in a 4-1 ODAC baseball loss at Washington and Lee Thursday afternoon.

Shenandoah (2-1, 2-1 ODAC), which scored its lone run in the first inning, had two of its four hits in that opening frame.

Second baseman Billy Arens reached on a one-out single to left center before advancing to third on Corbin Lucas' double down the right field line.

Arens then scored the first run of the game when Michael Paul reached on an error by W&L shortstop Taylor Rowe.

The Generals (3-1, 1-0) answered with one run in the third and three more in the fourth off of SU starter Tyler Hott (0-1).

Hott allowed the four runs on six hits and two walks against four strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work.

Matt Wilson gave up just one hit and walked one in working the eighth and ninth.

The Hornets other hits were Nolan Overby and Ricky Pardo singles in the fourth and seventh, respectively.

Drew Shott (1-0), who pitched the third and fourth for W&L, got the win. He struck out two in his two innings of action.

Five Generals pitchers registered seven strikeouts against the SU hitters.

Shenandoah is back in action tomorrow at 1:00 in a non-league game at Mary Washington.
