Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. - No. 11/21 Shenandoah University continued its winning ways Tuesday with an 8-2 non-league baseball victory at Dickinson.
Shenandoah (10-2-1) scored three runs in the first and four in the fourth to take a comfortable lead over the Red Devils (5-9).
Senior J.J. McDaniel had the big hit in the first with a two-run double to plate Michael Paul and Daniel Freshley from second and first, respectively.
Paul had reached on a walk before Freshley drove in Billy Arens with a single to left.
Arens had led off the contest with a double to left center.
Coach Kevin Anderson's club turned the game into a rout with four runs on five hits in the fourth.
The offense was more than enough for freshman Colin Morse (2-0), who allowed two unearned runs on five hits and one walk in 7.0 innings of work.
Morse struck out four before turning it over to Steven Varner for the eighth.
Morse' older brother, Phillip Morse, worked a scoreless ninth to close out the contest.
Arens led the offense with three hits, McDaniel was 2 for 4 with the two RBI and Freshley, Ryan Mossman, Nolan Overby and Ricky Pardo all drove in one run.
The Hornets return to ODAC play on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. home game against Eastern Mennonite.
