LEXINGTON, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's tennis team opened up its ODAC slate Wednesday afternoon with a 7-0 loss at league power Washington and Lee.
Playing inside at the Duchossois Tennis Center, W&L (2-1, 2-0 ODAC) swept the three doubles matches and the top four singles matches to earn the victory over SU (2-1, 0-1).
With the match clinched thanks to a 6-3, 6-1 victory for Ethan Markman over Jesse Ewing at No. 4 singles, the final two singles matches were abandoned prior to starting.
The closest match of the day came at No. 3 singles, where Zach O'Neal and Will Leach fell 8-5 to Markman and Sam Barowsky.
Shenandoah is back in action at Randolph-Macon Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader match with the SU women.
